Pistachio Specification
Iranian pistachios include many local names and each name represent a region, shape or quality type. However, in terms of shapes they come in four main groups; Long, Jumbo, Round. Currently pistachios grow in over 360,000 hectares of land in Iran, while Kerman province provides 77% of the countrys’ pistachio needs. Kerman province is essentially viewed as the most important region in the world for growing pistachios because of its special climate. Other areas of the country where pistachios are sourced include Yazd, Khorasan, Fars, Semnan, Sistan and Baluchestan, Qazvin, Isfahan and Qom.
We source the pistachios from the mentioned regions and perform the processing based on clients’ needs in our main factory in Kerman.
Pistachio Nutrition Facts
Every 100 grams of pistachio contains 626 kilo calories of energy. One parameter responsible for growth of pistachios in Iran is its particular climatic conditions. In semi-darid regions, pistachios are greener than other areas. One special parameter responsible for this is the geographical latitude. Other parameters are also involved such as soil and water. Scientists believe that pistachio has high nutrition value compared to other forms of dried fruits and even red and white meat, milk and eggs as well as grains. They also believe that ancient physicians used pistachios to treat patients. Today it is proven that pistachio is useful for children and young adults and helps them grow in a healthy manner. Pistachios contain 200 units of Vitamin A, 0.8 milligrams of Vitamin B1, 0.24 milligrams of Vitamin B2 and 1.5 milligrams of Vitamin B3. Pistachios are especially rich in terms of iron content compared to other forms of dried fruits, grains, vegetables and dairy products
